This presented an opportunity to feature alumni-owned businesses and emphasize the importance of the alumni network in achieving success. This story appeared on the alumni website, in the University of Denver magazine, and on the magazine website.

The Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the University of Denver needed a series of fact sheets for their school and specialty programs to educate their board and other stakeholders on goals and activities. Words, images, and infographics were used to tell the complete and compelling story of this innovative approach.

The Campaign for Northwestern

Case statement
Northwestern University

Northwestern University completed a strategic planning process, Northwestern Will, and was gearing up for a comprehensive $3.75 million campaign. The university hired Studio Blue to develop the campaign brand and the first wave of case statements. As a lead writer on the project, I drafted significant components of both the lead case statement and the athletics case statement, as well as short features of alumni donors.

Tax-free gifts from your IRA

Visual storytelling
University of Denver

The gift planning department wanted to communicate the benefits of making a gift from an IRA. They also sought to highlight the additional power of giving through a matching gift program. By featuring the inspiring story of Dan and Beth Whittemore and their support Native American students, we were able to tell both. Animations throughout the video visually translate the financially technical aspects of the gift. I conducted the interview, edited the script, and partnered with a graphic designer and videographer to complete the project.

The association, in alignment with the Governor's Office of Information Technology and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, had a rich story to tell about the momentum of the tech industry in Colorado. Infographics helped communicate complex points and dense facts in a scannable format for easy consumption.

Cal's Jay Keasling: Using Biotechnology to fight Malaria

Storytelling with purpose

This story features a public-private partnership funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It explains the impact of this research in preventing malaria and promotes the mission of the state, private, and federally funded research center. The story appeared in a magazine sent to university donors. Another version of it appeared in the Financing Cal's Future brochure and alumni magazine insert.

Destination for Student Success

Case statement
University of Colorado, Denver

The University of Colorado, Denver, proposed a new destination for student success on its urban campus. The case statement needed to communicate the architectural vision, as well as the benefits of the planned programs inside, in a way that was compelling and visually interesting. The building was fully funded and opened in 2014.
